Urusai Sunset Bar, a new venue focused on vinyl records, has opened in Ibiza as “the island’s first audiophile bar,” its owners said in a statement.
With a focus on contemplative listening sessions over dancing, the concept draws inspiration from Japan’s jazz kissa tradition, where patrons gather primarily to appreciate music rather than socialize. The venue is a part of El Silencio Ibiza, which is located on Cala Molí, a beach tucked away in Ibiza’s western coast.
When it comes to sound, Urusai features a hybrid analog-digital mixer and “handcrafted” coaxial speakers made from Baltic birch plywood, according to a press release.

The programming is curated by Jaime Fiorito, son of DJ Alfredo, a pioneering figure in Balearic house music. The venue’s collection spans jazz, funk, disco and Afrobeats records from the 1970s through 2000s, featuring artists like Alice Coltrane and Patrick Cowley alongside contemporary reissues.
Architect Kulapat Yantrasast, known for museum projects including work at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, designed the minimalist space around a “vortex-like” central sculpture.
The attached restaurant serves Japanese-influenced dishes using local Ibizan ingredients, including toro sandwiches and vegetable tempura, alongside natural wines and sake-based cocktails.
